10 Recipe Ideas For Mince

Our customers have always loved mince, but lately we’re seeing more go out the door than ever before. Mince is an awesome freezer filler, and one of the most versatile meat products you can buy. But now here you are at home, hefty bags of mince on the kitchen counter, staring down the barrel of a month’s worth of spaghetti bolognese. Possibly even panicking a little about your panic buy? Here are some ideas for how to turn that mince stockpile into something interesting.

1. Burgers!

Portion your mince into roughly 150g balls and add a nice pinch of salt, plus your favourite flavours (think onion, worcestershire sauce, maybe even a little dijon mustard). Our Premium Beef Mince is awesome for this as it has the perfect amount of fat through it to keep your burger nice and juicy.

2. Mince With Gravy

This one is a great option if you have to self isolate because it is a) comforting and b) really easy to make with ingredients with a long shelf life! This is one of those staples that our mums used to make us when we were kids, with gravy, green peas, carrot and some creamy mashed potatoes.

3. Spaghetti Bolognese

No brainer (just not all month). If you're looking for a lighter option (or are light on pasta), we love using zucchini noodles for this.

4. On that note - Lasagne!

5. Mince and Cheese Pies

These are a really yummy treat for lunch or as a snack, and even better - they can be frozen and reheated later! Get the recipe here...

6. Chilli Con Carne

This one we definitely endorse making a big pot of! If you decide you’re bored of the classic chilli con carne with rice, you can switch it up and add it to nachos, baked potatoes, or even a jaffle! So versatile and really easy to sneak extra veg into. Get the recipe here...

7. Meatballs

Beef and pork are great choices for meatballs, but we also really rate chicken mince for this! Just add a bit of ricotta cheese, some Italian herbs and garlic, and voila! We also have an awesome recipe for lamb meatballs on our blog (pictured), get the recipe here...

8. Shepherds Pie

Yum. For this recipe you can use either lamb or beef mince, your favourite gravy recipe, peas and carrots, then top with potato or sweet potato mash. You could even use your leftover mince and gravy from idea #2 for this!

9. Vietnamese Vermicelli Noodles

Pork or chicken mince mixed with your favourite sweet Asian inspired flavours makes an awesome noodle salad topper. Think ginger, garlic and lemongrass.

10. San Choi Bao

Usually made with pork or chicken mince, san choi bao is an awesome option if you're after something that's delicious but also light and healthy!
