All training is provided at Cannings so if you bring a curiosity and willingness to learn you’ll fit right in. A passion for food or experience in hospitality or retail is always a plus by no means a requirement. We always see enthusiasm, attitude and team-spirit wins by a country mile anyway!

Don’t be surprised if you start getting invited to more BBQs. If your staff discount wasn’t enough, your newfound meat and meat preparation knowledge will make you an indispensable invite to any BBQ.
For every meat industry skill you learn, you’ll also gain experience applicable to all kinds of roles and industries, from retail, sales, hospitality, corporate and beyond. We hold ourselves to a high standard of communication, attention to detail and client relationships – which is a plus in any field!

As a B Corp Certified Business (Australia’s only butcher to hold this certification!) it’s integral to our mission to demonstrate our commitment to local communities and the environment. We support Animal Welfare Organizations and local nonprofits with regular donations, and all of our store locations are Carbon Neutral (using renewable energy and offsetting unavoidable impacts through reforestation & biodiversity initiatives.)
