Welcome to our retail butchery stores, our online store and home delivery service, website, SMS program and social media pages. All of these areas combined make up our business. When you shop with us, either in-store, online, or via our SMS program or social media pages, you are agreeing to comply with and are bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy, govern Cannings Butchers relationship with you in relation to this website. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, please do not shop with us.

ONLINE STORE AND DELIVERY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • The content of the pages of this website is for your general information and use only. It is subject to change without notice.
  • You consent to and are happy with purchasing all products within our online store on an EACH priced format – not per kilo.
  • Online specials and promotions do not necessarily reflect in-store specials and promotions and are subject to change without notice.
  • Products and stock levels listed in the Online Store do not necessarily reflect the products or stock levels in all Cannings Butchers retail stores. For accurate stock information at retail stores – stores should be contacted directly on 1300 513 623
  • When you click on links in our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy policies.
  • Your delivery details are for use within Cannings Butchers and our third-party providers that are required for successful completion of your delivery (eg. Shopify and Home Delivery Services). In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.
  • Our deliveries are made between 7AM - 6PM. You will receive an Order Confirmation via email when your order has been received.
  • Your order will be delivered in a plastic-lined insulated box with an ice pack. The safety of the product becomes your responsibility on delivery. This plastic liner is recyclable through the REDCycle Program.
  • On the evening prior to your delivery, you will receive an SMS to the mobile number provided in the order. This will contain a tracking link. This link will be updated with a 4-hour window on the morning of delivery. Once your delivery is within 90 minutes of completion, the window will update with an estimated time of arrival (ETA).
  • An SMS will be sent notifying you that the driver is close, then again on completion of the delivery (please note that drivers will not always ring the doorbell, so it is best to rely on the SMS for updates on delivery)
  • We have the ‘Authority to Leave'. If there is a safe location to leave your order, the driver will do so. A photo will be uploaded to the Tracking Link showing where your delivery has been placed. 
  • All deliveries will be left unattended. In the event that there is not a safe location to leave your delivery, it will be placed back on to the delivery truck as an Unsuccessful Delivery Attempt
  • Please provide detailed delivery instructions in the comments field at checkout (ie. on the front porch or foyer apartment access code). If your nominated delivery address is an apartment, unit, or other secured space you must provide the code, instructions, or such other means to ensure delivery can be safely left.

ORDERS LEFT UNATTENDED – TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Once delivered, no returns or claims can be made about the contents of the order
  • Cannings Butchers take no responsibility for the temperature or the shelf life of the products in the order.
  • Cannings Butchers take no responsibility for the order’s whereabouts once it’s delivered.
  • The driver will take a photo of the delivery box in its position and this will be available via the tracking link.

UNSUCCESSFUL DELIVERY ATTEMPT

  • If the order was unable to be left in a safe location and/or need it redelivered, you will be charged a restocking and redelivery fee of $10.00 prior to the order being dispatched.

GENERAL

  • Cannings Free Range Butchers is a cashless business. We only accept electronic forms of payment.
  • EFT (electronic funds transfer) is considered legal tender by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA). Because payment can be made by EFT for all goods and services within our business, this satisfies the RBA.
  • If you are unhappy with your purchase, Cannings Free Range Butchers will refund or replace your purchase (whichever you prefer).
  • All in-store specials are not available in conjunction with any other special offers.

  • It shall be your own responsibility to ensure that any products, services, or information available through this website or online store meet your specific requirements.
  • This website contains material that is owned by or licensed exclusively to Cannings Butchers. This material includes, but is not limited to, the design, layout, look, appearance and graphics. Reproduction is prohibited other than in accordance with the copyright notice, which forms part of these terms and conditions.
  • Unauthorised use of this website may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offence.

ORDER DEPOSITS

  • If you have placed a deposit on an order, Cannings Butchers reserve the right to withhold the deposit if you do not collect the order or require unreasonable amendments to the order.
  • Deposits on Christmas orders will be retained by Cannings Butchers if you cancel your order after Christmas orders have closed.

ALLERGENS

  • In store, we are happy to disclose all ingredients and allergens to you. Please ask. On our website, all allergens are listed on the ingredients tab, within the specific product pages. We take cross contamination very seriously, however, we are not an allergen-free environment and therefore can not guarantee that items do not contain traces of allergens.

LIQUOR LICENCE EXEMPTION

Cannings Butchers sells Wines and Beer under a “Minor Business Exemption” – a liquor licence exemption under Victorian State Law that applies to a small handful of business types (florists, hairdressers, butchers) where the sale of liquor is only supplementary to the primary source of income for the business.

According to the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation, to qualify, a butcher must have “as its primary function the retail sale of raw meat or fish for human consumption, but does not include where meat is sold for consumption on the premises.” Cannings Butchers upholds the following criteria:

  • Liquor must be packaged in sealed containers and supplied for off-premises consumption
  • Liquor supplied has to be wine from a single, specific wine region or any type of beer
  • Liquor must not be supplied to a minor
  • The volume of liquor supplied to a person must not exceed 1.5 litres per day.

The above criteria also apply to the selling of liquor on the Cannings Butchers online store. Any delivery orders containing alcohol require the recipient to be over 18 years of age.
