More than meats the eye

Careers at Cannings.

Join us...

All training is provided at Cannings so if you bring a curiosity and willingness to learn you’ll fit right in. A passion for food or experience in hospitality or retail is always a plus by no means a requirement. We always see enthusiasm, attitude and team-spirit wins by a country mile anyway!

Career Pathways

We may be called ‘butchers’, but less than 15% of our team are qualified butchers, the rest are customer service professionals, apprentices, and operational or support staff. Across our nine store locations and support office, Cannings has opportunities for anyone wanting to learn more about the industry, work with food, pursue a butcher qualification or even manage a retail location. We pride ourselves on nurturing careers at Cannings, with all location managers (and many of the support team) sourced internally.

Front Of House

Learn customer service, safe food handling and a wealth of food knowledge. Absorb industry knowledge from qualified butchers.

Apprentice Butcher

Qualified Butcher

A qualification with truly global reach. Cannings is always on the lookout for existing talent or chefs looking to make an industry jump.
